2011 OSI Scholar Maria Vanushkina presented her research poster at the AMA, Eastern Orthopaedics, and has been selected to present at the AAHKS and a podium presentation at the AAOS. 

Congratulations to 2012 OSI, Sean Spence (University of South Florida) for winning first place in the Orthopaedic Summer Internship Research Competition for his poster entitled, "Autologous Chondrocyte Implantation and High Tibial Osteotomy: Patient Based Outcomes.” Thanks also goes to his preceptor, Dr. Michael Trice, at Johns Hopkins University's Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.

For the first time, the winning OSI research poster will be presented on the exhibit floor at the 2013 annual meeting of the AAOS in Chicago. Congratulations, Sean!

It's that time again!

Our annual Sawbones workshop with the entire first year class at Morehouse School of Medicine took place on January 27, 2012. 

Here is what one student had to say about the event: 

"I just wanted to say thank you for giving us the opportunity to work with the Orthopaedic Surgeons. I really enjoyed the experience and it reinforced much of what we learned in this unit. Prior to today, I had not been exposed to the world of orthopaedics and never really considered it an option. I can’t say definitively that I will be an orthopaedic surgeon, but I really enjoyed working with the tools and it is a possibility. Dr. Simpson-Mason, thank you for taking the time out of your schedule to come back and do this for us.
